The engineering industry uses plastic, and particularly Perspex, for a wide range of applications, due its considerable versatility. We supply an extensive range of plastic and acrylic materials to engineering industry clients. These are available in sheet, disc, rod and tube form, and in a large number of colours and finishes.

Acrylics have high optical clarity, which allows for clear visibility, and they are resistant to impact and weathering. These qualities make it a material often used as a substitute for glass. Perspex is lightweight, and can easily be machined, moulded or thermoformed into a wide range of shapes, making it suitable for covers, panels and structural supports.

Perspex is also resistant to many chemicals, making it ideal for fabricating tanks, containers and pipes for the storage and transport of corrosive substances. Acrylic products are an excellent electrical insulator, and thus frequently used in electrical engineering applications to provide insulation for electrical components, switchgear and control panels.

Perspex fabrication partner to UK engineering industry

We stock an extensive range of UK-made plastic products and materials, including Perspex, which is regarded as the highest grade acrylic available, PerspexRe (100% recycled cast acrylic) and Polycarbonates (including twin-wall and multi-wall). We are also a Perspex-approved fabricator.

As a trusted material supplier and fabrication partner to many of the UK’s leading engineering firms, we are highly experienced in the production of integrated shapes and/or components, cut expertly to the tightest tolerances.

Simply Plastic’s expert craftsmen are masters in the tooling and fabrication of Perspex or polycarbonate, and our state-of-the-art workshop offers a range of fabrication and machining services including, CNC routing, cut panels, laser cutting, laser engraving, line bending, acrylic edge polishing and gluing.

Outsourced Perspex fabrication services

We provide one off fabrication services alongside outsourced contract fabrication.  Our contract fabrication service provides engineering clients with rapid additional production capacities when current demand exceeds the existing internal capacity.  In addition, our contract fabrication service also gives clients the ability to streamline the manufacturing process and focus on core competencies.

By employing Simply Plastics as a fabrication partner, engineering firms achieve Perspex component goals and ensure access to the highest-quality products, cost-efficiency, and punctuality,

With over 30 years’ experience working with plastics, we have a proven ability to deliver exactly what our engineering clients need - on time and on budget. Our expert team are always on hand to advise customers on the best materials to choose, according to their intended use. If required, our skilled CAD technicians are available to assist with creating technical drawings.

We pride ourselves on our versatility and flexibility. We can accommodate long runs, short runs, one-offs and prototypes. As we are not restricted to set standard sizing, we can cut plastics to any size and shape our engineering clients require.

Our optimisation software ensures efficient use of material, time and budget, which helps keep costs down. We offer professional trade accounts with preferential payment terms, and discounts on volume orders.
