Line Bending

In simple terms, line bending is a process that’s used to make precise folds in plastic and acrylic components. As the name suggests, our line bending fabrication service allows us to bend plastic and acrylic sheets along a defined ‘line’ – without any need for gluing or joining – to create an attractive curved finish.

The sheet material in question is heated until it’s soft and malleable. The plastic or acrylic can then be bent to the desired angle, before being left to cool and set, retaining its newly formed shape.

For our line bending service we use strip heaters and jigs from CR Clarke – a specialist designer and manufacturer of thermoforming and plastic fabrication equipment – to ensure a consistent, high-quality finish. These strip heaters are designed to cater for all applications, from simple folds in thin materials, to multiple bends in materials up to 25mm thick.
